May 1, 2013: Animation Finished!

After my big hard drive crash this past weekend, I worked for 72 hours day and night on catching up on creating a new motion graphics piece by today. Thankfully, last night at about 5:30 a.m. I finished everything, with stereo sound design and all.

I'm hoping to submit this to a few Michigan websites, such as the National Parks Association and the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes National Lakeshore in hopes that they will display it commercially.

Artist Statement

I am an animator who takes pleasure in exploring animation with new and experimental materials. My work is formed by visually harnessing the spirits of both individuality and nature. I am inspired by nature and driven by the romanticized aesthetic experiences I undergo while traveling.

Through the use of rhythm in motion and anticipating movements, I articulate the non-verbal truths one discovers through being immersed in untamed nature. Keeping in mind the crucial application of color, timing, depth, and composition, I compose a story that is both captivating to my audience and analogous to the sensations I experience from my surroundings.

I am excited to be able to mix media; whether it be combining organic materials with computer motion graphics or live action footage with traditional animation – the possibilities are endless. In addition, I am fortunate to live in a time which allows me to combine my passion for nature with technology and bring that passion to the masses.
